Duke Ellington Suites

Musical excursus of some of the most important orchestral suites (New Orleans Suite, Such Sweet Thunder, Nutcracker Suite, Latin American Suite) written by the American composer, whose pieces that will be proposed in their original version, reconstructed through a long and patient transcription work from the versions of the time.
Due to the multiplicity and importance of his achievements in the field of music in general and his contribution to jazz in particular, Duke Ellington was one of the key figures of twentieth century music. Ellington’s total production, spread over more than 55 years of activity, amounts to a colossal quantity.
This musical journey will be enriched by the presence of the magnificent soloist, the trumpeter, Emilio Soana as guest of the project and considered one of the best first trumpets on the international jazz scene, a quality to which he combines that of an inspired soloist and powerful instrumental voice. Emilio Soana was the first trumpet of the RAI Orchestra of Milan, while today he is of the Civica Jazz Band, of the Montecarlo Night Orchestra collaborating with well-known jazzmen such as Gerry Mulligan, Art Farmer, Francis Boland, Harry Edison, Kenny Barron, Curtis Fuller, Ray Brown, Kay Winding and Clark Terry among others, as well as with the main Italian musicians.
The Rainbow Jazz Orchestra is directed by Duccio Bertini, a well-known Florentine arranger and conductor, and is made up of some of the best talents of Italian jazz and musicians who have been active for some time on the Tuscan jazz scene.
